The summer of 2023 has been dubbed the ‘Summer of Smoke’ as it was the worst wildfire season Northwest Territories had seen. This video was a test trial for an upcoming race event that will be hosted in Yellowknife. We nearly had to cancel due to smoke the morning of. It briefly cleared enough for us to start but unbeknownst to us, the smoke would move in again while we were swimming and envelope the city.
